sail boat controller
The objective of this project was to design a rudder and sail controller in Simulink to quickly navigate a simulated boat race. Our team was given the dynamics of the sail boat and had to come up with optimal controlee strategies as well as a well tuned control scheme to achieve desired setpoint tracking.
Our team made it to the finals where our boat, and four other of the best student team, faced off against the professors design. In the simulation below, our boat was orange and the professors was the one in white. Our team place first over all the student, second only to the professors design. In one of our 3 races we were able to beet him and that heat can be seen below.
